The top two teams in the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s East Conference added to their win totals on Sunday.
In Toronto, Owen Wilson’s fifth of the year came late in overtime to give the Trenton Golden Hawks a 6-5 victory over the Junior Canadiens.
The teams traded three goals in the first period, one each in the second and third. Trenton came back from deficits of 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 and 4-3 but couldn’t hang on to a 5-4 lead of their own.
Thomas Kuipers (6th), David Fournier (14th), Taeo Artichuk (12th), Cooper Matthews (9th) and James Jodoin (3rd) rounded out the Golden Hawks scoring.
In Wellington Cory Jewitt’s 22nd of the season was the winner as the Dukes dumped the Cobourg Cougars 4-2.
Ethan Quick (13th), Panayioti Efraimidis (11th) and Connor Hunt (19th EN) added goals for the Dukes.
Trenton leads the East with 68 points. Wellington is next with 56.
These teams meet up on Friday night at the Dunc McDonald Community Gardens.

In Junior C hockey in Amherstview the Jets jumped on Frankford with three goals in the first period and held on for a 6-3 win over the Huskies.
