Criminal charges were laid against three people after OPP stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 401 in the Napanee area on Wednesday.
Lennox and Addington OPP report a Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) team officer stopped an eastbound vehicle just east of the Beechwood Road overpass on Wednesday.
The driver, 39-year-old Peter Farkas from North York, was arrested on charges of:
Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
Failure or refusal to comply with demand
Driving while under suspension
Speeding 1-49 km/h over posted limit
Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
Further investigation led to the seizure of two weapons, 22 stolen/fraudulent credit/debit cards, a stolen passport, a stolen cheque, 13 grams of cannabis, four cell phones, a laptop and $1,220 cash.
Farkas and two 33-year-old passengers, Szabolcs Olah and Richard Olah, both from Toronto, were charged with:
Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose – two counts
Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
Possession of an identity document – 24 counts
All three accused were held for a bail hearing and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on a later date.
