Quinte West OPP have identified the deceased in a death investigation.
Police have identified the person as 17-year-old Kiean Stoddard of Quinte West.
On January 7, around 11 a.m., police responded to a well-being check at a motel on Dundas Street East in the City of Quinte West.
Officers located a deceased person in the building and Quinte West Fire and Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Services were called to the scene.
Police are now asking for the public’s help in their investigation.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have doorbell or dashcam video from January 3 between 5 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. in the area of 276 Dundas Street East.
The investigation is continuing under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
