And the streak continues.
Egor Sokolov scored twice (9th & 10th) in the third period and Mads Sogaard turned aside 27 shots as the Belleville Senators skunked the visiting Manitoba Moose 4-0 to push their winning streak to seven games, one shy of the team record.
Josh Currie snapped a scoreless tie at 18:27 of the second period with his fifth of the season before the B-Sens broke it open with three in the third.
It was Sogaard’s second shutout of the season and lowers his goals against average to 2.48.
Sogaard says he had lots of help in front of him.
Cole Reinhardt’s fourth of the season rounded out the scoring for the B-Sens.
The win moves Belleville two points behind second place Syracuse in the AHL North Division with one game in hand.
The Senators have a home at home against the Toronto Marlies this weekend. Friday night at the Coca Cola Coliseum and Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the CAA Arena.
