The City of Belleville has completed its one million dollar donation to Hospice Quinte.
The city made its final $225,000 contribution on Tuesday.
The six-year, one million dollar commitment helped Hospice Quinte establish its six-bed hospice residence known as the Stan Klemencic Care Centre on Old Highway 2.
City of Belleville Mayor Neil Ellis says, “We know that the $1 million pledge made to Hospice Quinte has helped provide so many individuals and families with comfort, support and compassionate care through the fantastic facility and staff at the Stan Klemencic Care Centre. We would like to thank the team at Hospice Quinte for the crucial work that they have done to get this facility operational over the past few years and for everything they continue to provide to our community.”
Hospice Quinte’s Executive Director Petra Lepage says they have received valuable support from local municipalities including Belleville, Quinte West and Tyendinaga Township. “We look forward to working with them into the future to provide the best possible hospice palliative care for our community.”
Hospice Quinte provides end of life care to residents in Quinte West, Belleville, Deseronto, Tyendinaga Township and the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.
