Northumberland OPP recovered two stolen vehicles in one day on Highway 401.
Just before 6 p.m. Friday, OPP received a report of a possible stolen vehicle travelling east on Highway 401 in Alnwick-Haldimand Township.
Officers were able to stop the vehicle and arrest the driver, 31-year-old Benjy Blain from Longueuil, Quebec on charges of theft of motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Earlier in the day, police stopped an eastbound vehicle near Port Hope and arrested 27-year-old Xavier Audate of Quebec on a charge of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
