The Centre for Workforce Development has launched its 2024 EmployerOne Survey in Hastings, Prince Edward, and Lennox & Addington Counties. The survey, now in its eighth year in these counties and third year collaboratively across Eastern Ontario, aims to gather valuable insights from local businesses on workforce gaps, challenges, strengths and opportunities.
The EmployerOne Survey covers a spectrum of topics, including the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the workforce, projected vacancies, hiring intentions, recruitment strategies, and employee retention. Additionally, it seeks perspectives on job candidate skills, education, and training. The collected data will be analyzed, and aggregated responses will be shared with local schools, community partners, government agencies, and the public. This collaborative effort is designed to enhance the understanding of workforce challenges and opportunities, enabling educators and employers to more effectively respond to issues such as occupational shortages, in-demand skills, and professional development requirements.
“Our community businesses play a crucial role in providing a comprehensive understanding of local workforce issues,” says Sandi Ramsay, Executive Director with the Centre for Workforce Development. “As such, workforce development boards like ours, are reaching out to employers across Eastern Ontario, urging their active participation in the survey.”
To encourage participation, businesses completing the survey will be eligible for a chance to win weekly draws of Canadian Tire and Tim Hortons gift cards.
The EmployerOne survey is open to businesses of all sizes, including organizations, non-profits, and charities with two or more employees. Taking approximately 10 minutes to complete, the survey is completely anonymous. The deadline for completing the survey is February 2, 2024.
