A failed power transformer plunged parts of eastern Belleville into darkness late Saturday evening.
Houses along Farley Avenue and Jameson Bone Road were out of power between 9:30 p.m. and 11 p.m.
The source of the issue was found to be a bad transformer. The transformer that feeds power to the nearby CN Rail line had failed, and caused a shortcircuit.
The equipment was replaced and power restored.
