Quinte Health says emergency departments at all four of its hospitals are experiencing significant wait times.
They say the reason is due to a combination of an increase in the number of patients needing care and staffing challenges.
It’s being advised that if your health concern isn’t an emergency to seek other options that Quinte Health has listed on their website.
Quinte Health says its teams respond to the most critically ill patients first meaning patients that aren’t facing imminent, life-threatening issues will wait for longer periods of time.
“We understand that patients waiting can feel terrible and uncomfortable, but in the hospital setting, we must care for the most timely and grave health issues first. We ask for everyone’s patience at this time and for your continued support and respect for our teams,” Quinte Health says in a statement.
