A 22-year-old Belleville man is to appear for a bail hearing today on a long list of charges including kidnapping and assault with a weapon in connection with an incident involving an ex-partner.
Belleville police say a 22-year-old woman reported that her ex-boyfriend attended her home Thursday and asked for her assistance with his car radio.
Once inside the vehicle, the male advised he was armed with a weapon, forced the woman to stay in the vehicle and drove off.
He allegedly travelled to various locations throughout the city while smashing her cell phone and threatening to kill the woman and her pets.
Eventually, the female was dropped off on the side of the road in Thurlow ward and contacted family members.
The accused, whose name is not being released to protect the identity of the victim, turned himself in to police later in the evening.
In addition to kidnapping and assault with a weapon, the male is also charged with weapons dangerous, mischief, uttering threats, uttering threats to kill an animal, and failing to comply with a probation order.
