As we look back at 2023, we chatted with the mayor of Deseronto Dan Johnston.
He says infrastructure was a focus in the past year in the municipality.
“The $800,000 upgrade to the community centre. It’s been a process that we’ve been working on for the last few years, but we were able to get significant improvements done to the community centre last year.”
“It included a focus on accessibility, while making changes to the bleachers area and building infrastructure. In addition we completed a large section of Thomas Street as part of our infrastructure program to replace sidewalks and roads.”
Fuel and electricity were two of the major increases year-over-year.
