A man with no fixed address faces an assault with a weapon charge after an altercation in downtown Brighton Tuesday.
Northumberland OPP responded at noon to Main Street after reports a person had been threatened by a man armed with a knife.
Johnathon Knapman, 57 years of age, was also charged with resisting a police officer.
He appears for a bail hearing in Cobourg Wednesday.
