A local teen is supporting the Children’s Safety Village – Belleville in a big way.
Bayside Secondary School Grade 10 student Dylan Phillips has donated $10,000 to the Children’s Safety Village through a grant he received from the ALVA Foundation’s Family Grant Challenge.
Phillips says he remembered visiting the Village when he was a student at Harry J. Clarke Public School and realizes how critical the programming is in teaching young people to be safe.
The Village currently provides programming in nine different areas to children from Kindergarten to Grade 6.
The ALVA Foundation is a private family foundation which, through the Family Grant Challenge, encourages the next generation of their family to be involved in philanthropy.
The ALVA Foundation provides funding for programs and services that support children and youth.
Last year Dylan, through the Challenge, donated $10,000 to The Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation’s Student Emergency Fund.
