Quinte West OPP have charged a driver following a pursuit.
Police were conducting a RIDE program on Barcovan Beach Road in Quinte West around 10:30 on Friday.
A vehicle was seen evading the program and fleeing the area.
A traffic stop was attempted but police say the driver refused to stop.
The pursuit was discontinued.
Further investigation by police led to the arrest of the driver.
Twenty-two-year-old Brian Burrows of Quinte West was charged with the following:
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
- Flight from peace officer
The accused was released from custody and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on January 4, 2024.
