There were no injuries after a fire at a four-unit apartment building in west end Trenton late Thursday night.
Quinte West firefighters were called out around 11:30 to 176 Maclellan Avenue near Trenton Memorial Hospital.
Residents had evacuated the building before crews arrived as the building had working smoke detectors.
Flames were found in a second floor unit and in the attic but the fire was under control by 12:20 Friday morning.
Tenants in two of the apartments were displaced and an investigation continues.
Quinte West Fire Chief John Whelan stresses that the working smoke detectors in the units saved lives.
Whelan tells Quinte News that the fire was electrical and began around a socket in the bathroom.
Estimated damages are $200,000.
