The man charged with the fire at the former Napanee arena has been denied bail.
This week in Napanee court, Jay Bradley, the former roller rink owner at the site, appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice.
Bradley has been charged in the fire at the Lennox Agricultural building, which is the former arena, at York and Thomas streets.
He was also charged in a garage fire at the home of the Ag Society’s Secretary Treasurer in Yarker.
He has been charged with:
- Two counts of arson — disregard for human life.
- Criminal harassment — threatening conduct.
- Possession of incendiary material.

Bradley had leased a portion of the building as a roller rink, however, the lease was not renewed.
Close to two dozen nearby homes were evacuated during the October 23 fire and great work by fire officials saved the adjacent curling club.
Bradley is back in court January 23.
