Members of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte go to the polls on December 2 to elect a new council.
Current Chief R. Don Maracle is running once again.
Running against him is Andrew Miracle.
The next council will look very different – six councillors will be elected, up from the current four.
Earlier this year, the community was asked for input about adjusting the size of council from four to six and the change was made as the result of that input.
In addition, only one incumbent, Chris Maracle, is seeking reelection.
Below is the list of council candidates:
Kurtis “Chip” Brant
Lynda Leween
Erin Ferrante
Chris Maracle
Ainsley Leween
Ogwari Brant
Chris “Hockey” Brant
Lily “Lou” Maracle
Voting takes place Saturday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. at Quinte Mohawk School.
Results will be posted on the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte website and Facebook page.
