An investment from the Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund has been delivered to the Belleville General Hospital Foundation.
Thursday morning, the BGHF announced $20,000 has been given to deliver motivational interviewing training for mental health services nurses.
The release says that motivational interviewing is a collaborative, patient-centred counselling method that enhances a patient’s motivation to change and empowers them to take responsibility for their own recovery.
This announcement also comes on the day Canada launches a new 988 suicide crisis helpline.

Belleville General Hospital provides a continuum of mental health care services from crisis intervention, acute inpatient admissions, day hospital community and outpatient support.
