The holidays come alive in Belleville’s Downtown District this weekend with the return of Enchanted.
Enchanted will be held the first two weekends in December – December 1 and 2 and 8 and 9.
The event kicks off Friday with the lighting of the downtown core.
Santa’s Workshop can be found at Loyalist Accelerate at 249 Front Street on both Fridays (3 – 7 p.m.) where you can get photos with the big guy, visit Kids’ Corner for crafts and activities and bring your gifts to the Welcoming Street Wrapping Station to have presents beautifully wrapped costing only a donation.
In addition to monetary contributions, item donations will be collected at the station for those in need including new or gently-used clothing, quality winter items and jackets, footwear, packaged snacks and granola bars, first aid supplies, socks and underwear, hygiene products, sunscreen, hats, backpacks and bottled waters.
The Enchanted Holiday Hop will also be held on each Friday with participating downtown restaurants and cafes offering festive beverages, cocktails or mocktails.
On both Saturdays Market Square will have free, family-friendly festive fun (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and horse and carriage rides through the downtown (4 to 7 p.m.).
Throughout both Enchanted weekends, shoppers can also take advantage of the Holiday Passport program for a chance to win a $1,000 gift card for the Downtown District. Passports can be picked up at any downtown business or supporting local merchants throughout the event.
