Quinte News needs to clarify last week’s story on the COVID-19 update using information from Hastings Prince Edward Public Health (HPEPH)
While the number of people who died did increase by nine, statistically the deaths did not necessarily occur in the week previous as the original article indicated.

HPEPH is continuously receiving updated data and adjusts the dashboard to ensure it is as accurate as possible.
As of Nov. 22, 2023 the count of COVID-19 deaths was updated to include missing historical deaths from January 15, 2020 to March 31, 2023.
This correction may result in data spikes, negative numbers and current totals being different from previously reported case and death counts.
Count of deaths is subject to change as cause of death data becomes available.
