Quinte West OPP have charged two people in connection with several commercial property crime occurrences.
Back in October 2023, OPP, with help from members of the Quinte West Community Street Crime Unit, began a property crime investigation.
On Tuesday, with the help of the OPP’s Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team, two people were arrested.
52-year-old Paul Helm of Quinte West was charged with the following:
- Theft – Six counts
- Mischief – Six counts
- Break and enter
- Possession of break in tools
- Possession of property obtained by crime
- Fail to comply with release order
- Breach of probation order
45-year-old Tanya Cooper of Quinte West was charged with the following:
- Possession of property obtained by crime
- Possession of break in tools
- Fail to comply with Undertaking
The accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
