Belleville police are asking for the public’s help after a report of an attempted abduction of a 14-year-old girl in the east end of Belleville Wednesday afternoon.
Around 3 p.m., the girl was walking on Southview Avenue when she was approached by a man driving a white vehicle.
Police say the man asked the girl to get into his vehicle. When she refused, the man reportedly jumped out and attempted to physically pull the girl into the vehicle.
The teenager was able to break free and call police.
Police officers responded to the area but were unable to locate the man or his vehicle.
The male suspect is described as approximately six feet tall, medium build with short dark facial hair and driving a white sedan.
