Two weeks ago Trenton native Trennt Michaud and his new partner Lia Pereira won a silver medal in the pairs competition at their first International Skating Union Grand Prix event together in Texas.
This weekend in Angers France, they went one better.
Michaud and Pereira won their first Grand Prix gold medal after finishing first in both the short and free pairs programs.
The 27-year-old Belleville-born Michaud and 19-year-old Pereira had an overall score of 194.67 to finish more than five points ahead of skaters from Italy.
A French duo finished third.
