The Snow Angels program in Belleville is gearing up for another season and is looking for volunteers.
The neighbourhood program matches people who need help shoveling snow from their driveways and walkways with volunteers in their area.
Clearing snow can be a barrier for many people: older adults, people with disabilities, someone with an injury or even a parent with young children in the house.
It can affect an individual’s ability to stay active and to live at home safely and as independently as possible.
Through the Snow Angels website, those needing support can view registered volunteers in their area and message them to request help.
Likewise, volunteers can view the approximate locations of those seeking assistance and reach out to offer help.
It’s an excellent opportunity for secondary school students looking for community hours.

The Snow Angels program is not a City of Belleville program, it relies completely on the community and the registration of volunteers.
However, those with questions regarding the program or how to register may contact the city’s Accessibility Coordinator at 613-967-3200 ext. 3502 or accessibility@belleville.ca.
