The electric vehicle industry is attracting a lot of investment these days, not only in eastern Ontario but province-wide.
And in line with the trend toward more battery-powered vehicles on the roads in the next decade Belleville’s Economic Development Committee will ask council to consider some spending for charging stations in its 2024 capital budget discussions.
Committee member Downtown District BIA chair Maury Flunder said many communities, including Prince Edward County, are already putting vehicle charging stations in public parking lots.
Committee chair Councillor Sean Kelly said charging stations at Quinte Mall, which serve only Tesla models, seem to be very busy these days.
