The Wiggle Waggle Walkathon fundraiser, held by Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward, has raised $45,000 to help animals in need.
Dreary clouds and dismal weather couldn’t keep the record-breaking crowd of nearly 100 animal lovers away as they walked to raise money to help care for animals in need.
This year’s fundraiser raised nearly double last year’s total of $27,000.
This year featured the debut of a pet festival alongside the Walkathon, with over 30 vendors, food trucks, children’s activities and dog demos.
The event also featured a first of its kind pet blessing, where minister Jan Mason blessed dozens of pets, including dogs, cats, and a pair of alpacas.
