The City of Belleville has received just under a million dollars from Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, its second quarter payment for hosting Shorelines Casino Belleville.
The city is receiving $920,239 for the second quarter (July 1 – September 30).
So far this fiscal year, OLG has paid $1,793,249 to Belleville.
Since the Bell Blvd gaming site opened in January 2017, the city has received $17,338,259.
Payments to host communities are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.
In the past, the city has used casino revenues for projects like the widening of Bell Boulevard, the purchase of a new Zamboni for the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre and flood prevention measures.
