There was a house fire near Sandbanks Provincial Park early Thursday.
Prince Edward County firefighters from the Picton and Bloomfield stations responded at 2:45 in the morning to a porch fire spreading to a house at 190 Kleinsteuber Parks Road.
Prince Edward County Fire and Rescue says the home had working smoke alarms. All of the home’s occupants managed to get out of the house safely and no one was injured.
Firefighters arrived to a working structure fire that took about 30 minutes to bring under control.
The fire was under control shortly before 4 o’clock.
While the house still stands there is fire damage to part of the house, as flames reached up into the roof.
Damages are estimated to be $700,000.
The cause is under investigation but Prince Edward County Fire and Rescue say the blaze is not being deemed as suspicious.
