Planning is underway for the 2024 Quinte International Air Show, and Prince Edward County is looking at joining as a sponsor.
During Thursday’s Committee of the Whole meeting, members of Prince Edward County Council received a deputation from Jaqueline St. Pierre, Manager of Business Development with 8 Wing Trenton, about sponsorship deals for the air show.
Councillor John Hirsch was glad to see the airshow return to the region, since it was last done in 2016.
“It’s really nice to see that we’re gonna have an air show back again, it’s been a while,” said Councillor Hirsch. “It was great fun when we were kids.”
The committee requested that municipal staff prepare a report for council about the feasibility of sponsoring the event and its impacts on the upcoming budget. The report is to explore a $25,000 sponsorship commitment.
The request for a staff report was sent to Prince Edward County Council for final approval. If approved, the report by staff on the potential sponsorship deal will be part of the 2024 budget process.
