It was anything but a relaxing holiday weekend for the Wellington Dukes as they wrapped up three games in less than 48 hours with a 5-4 loss to the visiting Burlington Cougars Sunday afternoon. The Dukes held a 4-2 lead in the second period but appeared to run out of gas as the Cougars rallied to score three in a row.
Cory Jewitt scores his eighth for Wellington. Sacha Trudel, Zander Latreille and Nick DiPaolo also scored.
Wellington’s record falls to 6-6-0-2.
The Dukes host the St. Michales Buzzers on Friday night.
Huskies ground the Jets
The Frankford Huskies rapped up a three-game weekend all on the road with a decisive 8-4 victory over the Amherstview Jets Sunday afternoon.
Frankford got stronger as the game went along, scoring four goals in the third period.

Frankford is 6-1 to top the Provincial Junior C Hockey League’s East Tod Division.
