As part of the announcement, cheques were presented by the Belleville Senators ($7,000) and Mackay Insurance ($5,000). The funds are directed to this year’s Strong Kids Campaign.
Patricia Guernsey of Team Guernsey Royal Lepage says she is looking forward to returning to the co-chair position for another fundraising season.
“What an amazing organization and we are so thankful to be a part of this and to be able to help the children and the community come to the YMCA. It is such an amazing community program. I just can’t speak enough for it.”
McDonald’s owner (Campbellford/Brighton/Trenton) Ken Schmidt says that although he represents the Quinte West YMCA and Guernsey the Belleville location, they work as a team.
“Patricia’s very competitive, I’m competitive. As much as we’re competitive, we’re friends, business owners, and we really enjoy being a part of this community and proud to help out the Y.”
YMCA Strong Kids is an annual fundraising campaign focused on raising funds to give kids opportunities in programs the Y offers.
