The Belleville Senators have agreed to terms with forward Tarun Fizer on a one-year American Hockey League contract.
The 22-year-old Chestermere Alberta native is entering his second professional season.
He played in 62 games last season with the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL scoring 27 goals and 50 points.
Fizer impressed Ottawa management by scoring four goals and an assist in three games with the Senators at last week’s Rookie Showcase in Buffalo.
“Tarun has earned himself an AHL contract after making a strong impression, beginning with the first day of rookie camp,” said Belleville Sens General Manager Ryan Bowness. “He’s shown that he’s a natural goal scorer and should really help our offensive game, adding further depth to our forward core.”
