The Frankford Huskies have taken full advantage of home ice to open the new Provincial Junior C Hockey season.
Keenan Wiles scored twice to help the Huskies thump the Port Hope Panthers 7-2 and improve their record to 3-0, all at home.
Blake Ellis, Liam Storms, Matt Musclow, Dylan Foster and Jakob Gardner scored singles. Gage Butcher added three assists.
Frankford will test their road legs for the first time Thursday night when they play the Pirates in Picton.
G-Hawks and Dukes in Buffalo
The annual Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Governors Showcase returns to Buffalo for three days beginning today.
All 24 teams in the OJHL, including the Trenton Golden Hawks and Wellington Dukes, will play two games that count in the standings.
Trenton plays Collingwood Tuesday afternoon and Wellington Wednesday.
The Dukes take on the Toronto Junior Canadiens Tuesday night.
