Two males are facing multiple charges following an armed robbery in broad daylight in downtown Belleville.
Witnesses called police just after 4 p.m. Thursday after observing the 18-year-old victim calling for help on Front Street.
Police say the victim was approached by two males, one of them brandishing a knife, who demanded they turn over their bicycle.
One male fled on the bike and the other on foot.
Police watched video footage of the incident and recognized the suspects and began an extensive search.
Officers observed one of the suspects on Pinnacle Street a couple of hours later and arrested the 26-year-old male of no fixed address after a brief foot chase.
The second suspect, a 39-year-old male of no fixed address was located on Church Street shortly after midnight.
Both males were held for a bail hearing on charges of robbery and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The 39-year-old is also charged with theft under $5,000 after a donation box was stolen last evening from a College Street East restaurant.
The stolen bicycle was returned to the victim.
