Belleville’s downtown was overtaken on Saturday by the sound of the blues.
The first Downtown Blues Festival saw Front Street close down for several performers, as the event raised money for Gleaners Food Bank.
Event organizer, Carol Feeney, said the event was a huge success and that they’re planning another festival next year.

“We had really good attendance. We had a big crowd at Market Square, and it was packed on Front Street,” said Feeney. “It was just a sea of people. Lots of people saw what was going on.”
The total raised in donations for Gleaners is still being tallied, and will be released soon.
