The Trenton Golden Hawks started their OJHL season with a bang, shutting out the Cobourg Cougars 3-0, in front of over 1000 fans at the Duncan Memorial Gardens.
Ryan Nichols, Lucas Lapalm, and Jordan Fuller scored for the Golden Hawks.
The Golden Hawks set a steady pace over the game, scoring once in each of the three frames, even as action heated up in the penalty-filled third period.
The Golden Hawks took nearly twice as many shots on net as the Cougars while their goalie, Benjamin Bonisteel, played a perfect game and never let a single shot past him for the entire three periods.
The Golden Hawks will face the Brantford 99ers on Sunday.
