Construction activity in Prince Edward County so far this year continues to lag behind last year’s pace.
In August the county issued 65 building permits with a construction value of $20.4 million.
In August of 2022 there were 126 permits issued worth $32.5 million.
Most of the value came from 12 new houses and three sets of row houses totalling 24 units.
In the first eight months of this year 249 permits were issued worth just over $136 million.
In the same period last year construction value was $171.6 million on 728 permits.
