Speeding and Alcohol Charges
On September 4, 2023 at 3:34 p.m., an officer stopped a motor vehicle on Highway 62 in Belleville for speeding. Upon speaking to the driver, the officer observed that the driver and passenger both had open alcohol in the vehicle. As a result, the driver, a 45-year-old male from Maynooth, was charged with speeding and having alcohol readily available in a motor vehicle. The driver was also issued a three-day licence suspension and his vehicle was towed.
Mischief and Utter Threats
On September 1, 2023 at 8:49 a.m., Belleville police were called to an address on Pinnacle Street for a male who had caused damage to numerous cars and was threatening workers at the business. Following an investigation, police were able to locate and arrest the male suspect. As a result, a 29-year-old Belleville man was charged with three counts of mischief and uttering threats. He was held for a bail hearing.
Arrested on Warrant for Intimate Partner Assault x2 and Assault Bodily Harm – Choking
On September 2, 2023 at 12:30 p.m., police while on general patrol, located a male known to them who was the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant. Police arrested the 37-year-old Belleville male on the strength of the warrant that included charges of intimate partner assault x2 and assault bodily harm – choking. The male was transported to the Belleville Police Service where he was held for bail. The name of the male is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
Domestic Assault, Breach of Probation x2 and Assault Bodily Harm – choking
On September 2, 2023 at 11:57 a.m., police responded to a report of an intimate partner dispute in the city’s west end. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the involved parties and learned that a 31-year-old Belleville man had assaulted a 24-year-old woman. Subsequently the male was arrested for intimate partner assault, breach of probation x2 and assault bodily harm – choking. The male was transported to the Belleville Police Service where he was held for bail. The name of the male is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
Arrested on Warrant – Fail to Attend Court
On September 3, 2023 at 11:45 a.m., police responded to the area of Front Street regarding a suspicious person. While conducting their investigation, police located a female known to them to be wanted on a warrant for failing to attend court. As a result, police arrested 44-year-old Louise Hall of Belleville on the strength of the warrant. Hall was transported to the Belleville Police Service and held for bail.
Arrest for Being Intoxicated in a Public Place
On September 3, 2023 at 3:56 p.m., police responded to a business in the area of North Front Street and Bell Blvd. regarding an intoxicated male. Police located the male who was unable to care for himself due to his intoxication level. As a result, the 39-year-old Belleville male was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and transported to the Belleville Police Service. He was later released when sober with a Provincial Offences Notice under the Liquor Licence Act.
