It is the long weekend, in fact the final long weekend of summer.
Teens are going to university or college for the first time, perhaps it is a last trip to the cottage, or for others back to school shopping or a day vacation.
Belleville police, along with the OPP in Bancroft, L & A, Prince Edward County, Quinte West, Central Hastings, and Northumberland detachments, are going to be busy.
Over the last five years, hundreds of people have been killed on Ontario roads, because of the big four; distracted, impaired, and aggressive driving, and not wearing seat belts.
Officers add they will also be on waterways and trails ensuring motorists are acting safe.
A reminder as well that come Tuesday, it is back to school for thousands of students across the Quinte region.
