Three new charges have been laid against Colonel Leif Dahl in connection with a firearms incident August 25 on the Murray Canal in Quinte West.
Quinte West OPP report the additional charges are possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, careless storage of a firearm, and transporting a firearm or restricted weapon.
The 45-year-old Dahl has been temporarily removed from his position as Commander of 8 Wing Trenton as he goes through the court process.
Monday it was announced he was charged with careless use of a firearm, obstructing police, and hunting birds without a licence, among others, after reports of someone shooting at wildlife from a boat.
OPP reported the weapon was thrown from the boat into the Murray Canal and police divers managed to recover it.
He appears in court September 28.
Lieutenant-Colonel Matt Lederle has been appointed as Acting Wing Commander at CFB Trenton.
