The Quinte West OPP have laid charges in an impaired driving investigation.
On August 23, 2023, at approximately 11 p.m., officers responded to a traffic complaint on Queen Street, Trenton. An investigation led to the driver being arrested.
Dillon Broadbent, 19 years old from Petawawa, has been charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired – Blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Have care and control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available
- Novice driver – BAC above zero
- Have care and control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on September 14, 2023. Additionally, the vehicle was impounded for seven days, and his licence was suspended for 90 days.
