It’s a special year for the 9th Annual Canal Pursuit for Mental Health Relay Run which will make its way through the Quinte region on Wednesday.
This year’s event is in honour of military and first responders.
Relay runners are covering 700 km along the Trent Severn and Rideau Canals, running past 88 locks, and ending on Parliament Hill.
Clay Williams organizes this run in honour of his wife, his daughter and his sister who all suffer from mood disorders, and in memory of his two older brothers who took their own lives.
Funds raised from the relay support the Mood Disorders Society of Canada (MDSC).
More information about the Defeat Depression Canal Pursuit for Mental Health can be found on the Canal Pursuit Facebook page, on Instagram @canalpursuit and on Twitter @canalpursuit. Daily communications during the run are also part of this campaign.
