Residents of a large social housing complex in Trenton are upset about a huge pile of household trash sitting outside a townhouse at 29 Adrian Court.
The unsightly trash pile has been left sitting there for over two weeks by the unit’s tenants and residents have been complaining to the City of Quinte West and the complex’s supervisors, the Trenton Non-Profit Housing Association.
No action has been taken.
Steve Paterson, whose daughter lives in the complex, can’t believe what he’s seeing.
“They seem to be unable to get people to clean up and if you drive around in there there’s a lot of people that are really doing a good job keeping their place looking good and then you have people like that.”
Paterson says all of the subsidized housing in the complex, which also offers market rent units, is inspected for cleanliness and damage once a year.
“This didn’t happen overnight, this accumulation of stuff. It’s been there a long time because they’ve (tenants) been there for quite a while.”
When contacted by Quinte News, manger of Trenton Non-Profit Housing Corporation Wanda Coons would not comment on the situation.
