Several packages of contraband were seized at Collins Bay Institution over the weekend.
Items seized at the multi-level security federal institution from August 12-14 included approximately 509 grams of marijuana, 310 grams of tobacco, as well as cellphones and accessories.
The Correctional Service of Canada uses a number of tools to prevent drugs and contraband from entering its institutions including ion scanners and drug-detector dogs to search buildings, personal property, inmates, and visitors.
