Chuck’s Roadhouse Napanee Express U15 Boys are returning Monday from Saskatchewan, with a bronze medal from the Canadian Championships.
Stoco’s Chris Alberta hit the winning run in their final knockout win, to lead the Express to a 5-4 win over the Elmira Heat, guaranteeing the club a third place finish. They were trailing the game 4-0 going into their final at bat.
Alberta says it was incredible.
“I think our team played well and we left it all out on the field and that’s all you could ask for. The game’s not over until the end, in the end we came out with the win.”

Team Coach Dave Kerr says it was a great experience for the kids.
“You don’t get to these every year and for some of these kids it might be their last time opportunity. I’ve coached a lot of ball the last 30 years and I’ve never been part of such a great comeback.”
Not only did they finish third, but they also had the best record in the tournament at 8-2. They lost to Tara in the semi-finals in extra innings. Tara would defeat Newfoundland in the finals.
