A BioBlitz for the public to learn more about creatures and plants in the Quinte area is being held near Tamworth on the August long weekend.
Victoria Hirst of Shibagua Creek Forest Farmstead tells Mary Thomas of Quinte News that people are invited to the farm August 5 or August 6 to take part in the event, and send results to the Nature Conservancy of Canada.
“We’re documenting species that can be found on our property. We have some biodiversity. We’ve got forest area. We’ve got meadow area and we’ve got creek area. All within this 100-acre region.”
To hear more about this event, tune in to Newsmaker Sunday with Mary Thomas, this Sunday, at the noon hour, on 800 CJBQ.
