Canada’s National Under 18 hockey team is in Europe for the annual Hlinka-Gretzky Cup which begins next Monday (July 31) in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
And Madoc’s Ben Danford will be on Team Canada’s blueline.
The 17-year-old Danford has just completed his first season in the Ontario Hockey League after the Oshawa Generals made him their first round selection in 2022.
The Quinte Red Devils graduate played in last year’s World Under 17 Hockey Challenge in Delta B.C. but this will be his first action as a member of Team Canada overseas.
Canada’s first game at the Hlinka-Gretzky Cup is Monday against Finland.
