A former Director of Education for the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board will be the subject of a hearing before the Discipline Committee of the Ontario College of Teachers.
Sean Monteith, who suddenly resigned his position in March of 2021 without explanation, is accused of
not keeping required records, signing documents he knew to be untrue, and charging the school board for expenses in violation of the board’s policies.
Those expenses involved travel, flights, and hotels for himself and others.
In the Notice of Hearing it’s also alleged that Monteith engaged in dishonourable or disgraceful conduct.
A date for the hearing has not been set.
Monteith was hired by Loyalist College in July of 2021 as Senior Vice President Academic and took a leave of absence
from the College recently to serve as the Executive Director of the Ontario Indigenous Advanced Education & Skills Council
until March of 2024.
