Seventy-seven-year-old Frank Sedlacek was sentenced to four years and 321 days in prison on charges of child pornography, voyeurism and breach of a release order at the Quinte Courthouse on Wednesday.
He was credited for 102 days in pre-trial custody.
According to an agreed statement of facts, a number of young women would visit Sedlacek and his spouse’s home and would sometimes sleep over or shower at the residence.
It was later discovered that an alarm clock that was placed near where an underage female had slept had a hidden camera in it that filmed the underage girl changing or while she was in bed.
The underage girl had cut off communication with Sedlacek after reporting an incident to her father of Sedlacek giving a vibrator to her in 2021.
Sometime later, a young woman went to the house and learned of the hidden camera in the clock and police were contacted.
In August 2022, police executed a search warrant at Sedlacek’s home in Quinte West and seized multiple electronic devices (including hidden cameras) and electronic storage devices.
Police had located a Micro SD card that contained two videos, each about five minutes in length, overlooking the underage girl’s bed in the basement.
Sedlacek was arrested and charged with child pornography and voyeurism and was released on conditions including not possessing a computer.
Further forensics by police discovered over one million media items in the SD card including over 650,000 inappropriate images and 24 videos of the underage girl and over 203,000 inappropriate photos and 13 videos of the young woman.
Also found were videos and images of voyeurism, child pornography and bestiality.
Sedlacek was re-arrested on additional charges and was once again released on bail with conditions not to have a computer.
Following his release from custody, police observed that Sedlacek had hidden a laptop he had borrowed, then later purchased, within his home.
Police executed another search warrant on March 29, 2023 and located a silver HP laptop on an office desk.
Sadlacek was arrested for breach of his conditions and was held.
On top of his sentencing, Sedlacek will be a registered sex offender for the rest of his life, is under a lifetime Section 161 Order where he will not be allowed at parks, schools, playgrounds or other areas where children may be, is ordered not to be within two km of victims’ homes, forfeiture of electronic devices and is to not have contact with the victims while in custody.
