MISCHIEF, DRUGS
Bancroft OPP have charged one person following damage to a local business.
On July 17, 2023, shortly after 12:00 a.m., officers were called to a business in the Town of Bancroft for a break and enter. Officers attended the area where the investigation resulted in police arresting one adult.
Ryan Hie, a 33-year-old from the Town of Bancroft, has been charged with the following criminal offences:
- Mischief
- Possession of Break in Instruments
- Possession of methamphetamine
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on August 15, 2023 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft.
ASSAULT
On July 15, 2023, shortly before 5:00 p.m., officers were called to a residence in the Township of Faraday for a disturbance. Officers attended the residence where the investigation resulted in police arresting one adult.
David Vautour, a 34-year-old from the Township of Faraday, has been charged with the following criminal offences:
- Assault
- Mischief
- Fail to comply with a Probation Order
The accused has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville, Ontario on July 17, 2023 in relation to the criminal charges.
ROCK THROWING
Bancroft OPP made an arrest after reports of a male throwing rocks at traffic.
On July 13, 2023, shortly before 6:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of Highway 28 in the township of Faraday for a traffic complaint that a person was walking in traffic and throwing rocks. As a result of the investigation, police arrested one adult.
Stephen Douglas, a 38-year-old from Faraday Township has been charged with the criminal offence of mischief.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on September 26, 2023 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft.
